wisdom teeth removal?

so i'm very unhappy with my smile. but the dentist and me don't go well together. let's just say i'm a big baby when it comes to the dentsit. which is Why I stopped going for years! but since im so unhappy with my teeth i got the courage to go back and find out what could be done about it. So i got some cleanings, and 2 cavities filled. but my dentist said i would need all 4 of my Wisdom Teeth removed. i want to have my teeth straightened and he said it would give them alot more room to move around. after that i would go for the invasiline. but as i said i'm a baby when it comes to the dentsit. although i have been doing much much better with it. i've been reading alot of stuff about wisdom teeth online. and i guess that was a pretty bad idea because now i'm just scaring myself even more. next week i have an appointment with the surgen. and will have them out sometime in feb. so is it really as bad as I think it will be? any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks!

I got all four of mine extracted this morning at 11 a.m. One was fully grown in, the other three were deeply impacted and growing sideways. They had to cut through jaw bone and "slice" them into chunks to remove them. I was put completely to sleep through IV medications (general). All I remember was being hooked up to Heart monitors and then they put a Nose mask on my face. They started giving me some laughing gas to take away my anxiety. Then, I remember them putting in the IV and talking to me for a few minutes.

Finally, I was being woken up by the Nurse and my husband. I had been completely moved to another room and I felt WONDERFUL. There wasn't any pain at that time - the worst of it was not being able to walk and being super sleepy.

I came home and have been vegging out on the couch ever since. The pain is very minimal (and I'm a HUGE baby with pain - I've never been in the hospital for ANYTHING before) and I even hesitated taking the pain pills. My husband has been helping me with the gauze pads every thirty minutes. I haven't swelled up yet - that may come tomorrow I've been told - and the bleeding is minimal as well.

I've already slurped down some melted ice cream and Sprite - very good stuff - and talked to my mom on the phone. I'm not even sleepy anymore. I feel good!

I was in the same boat as you with freaking myself out over horror stories online. They are simply there to freak you out - nothing more. From my experience so far, I think it's fine. You'll do great!

~*~DAY TWO~*~

I woke up this morning with stiffness in my jaw and my Swelling was a little more - but you can't even tell by looking at me that I had any surgery at all.

I was able to eat a bunch of noodles - the best are these TINY star-shaped noodles you can get at the store (called pastina or stars) microwaved and buttered - and some yogurt today. The pain pills are simply because I figured I paid for them, so I should take them.

I even went to Wal-Mart last night and visited some friends. No biggie. And like I said before - you'll be just fine! Especially if you keep up with the gauze and get those Blood clots formed!
Going through it right now! :D
