Why does my jaw hurt so badly on the right side (the pain is shooting ALL the way to my ear)?

Does that mean I have TMJ? Also, it feels funny when I bite down & chew. It's been like this ever since last night.
i have TMJ and a sign is if you try to open your Mouth it might feel like its going to snap shut or you will get a loud popping when you open close or eat and your teeth would also hurt as well as your jaw joint.
maybe its a ear Infection and that is where the shooting pain try some asprin see if it helps, could also be a infected tooth, when they get infected it pushes the tooth out a bit which would make you feel the difference in your bite..
