My daughter just had braces removed and has white spots on her teeth. It's not residue, will they fade or go away after time?
No they will not go away! These white spots are called enamel decalcification. This was from not brushing her teeth good enough when her braces where on. The bacterial plaque on her teeth and the carbohydrates that she ate produced an acid, which ate away at the enamel. If she didn't brush her teeth at all, then these spots would have turned to cavities. But, I'm sure she brushed, and the enamel then hardened. Altough these spots are not as hard as the enamel once was.
