I had some blood drawn on Friday morning and now there's a big black bruise the size of a very large egg (not a lump, just black surface that size.) It seems to be growing and is tender. Am I highly sensitive or did the nurse do something? All that happened is some blood leaked into the skin. It's a bruise and you can treat it like any other bruise as long as it isn't like an egg under the skin. You can use ice or heat on it if it makes it feel better. Otherwise, just leave it alone. During the healing process, it may change colors like any other bruise. It's not an allergic reaction and the nurse didn't do anything wrong, it just happens sometimes....
