messed up kneecap...perhaps bone chip?

I hit my knee REALLY hard a few months ago and it hurts now more than ever. Whenever my upper left corner of my right knee cap brushes against something, it hurts like...well...very bad. >

My knee isn't like that now, but I am pretty sure THAT is why my knee cap is messed up now. I did a 360 over a spine on my skates and managed to get something jammed in my wheel. I went straight down and landed REALLY hard on my knee.
there are alot of things that could be happening- from bone chip, to bruised bone, to tear, or possible fracture. It is best to get it looked at by a doc. A quick xray and exam, and you'll know whats going on. Knees can be a little tricky, and you really count on them to get you through a day, so best not to continue to hurt with it. See when you can get into the office and get it looked at by your family doc, or stop by the ERoom if it gets too painful and get it checked out.
