Kneecap pain?

I'm a (House) Painter and recently i've been having problems with my Kneecaps. There in a lot of pain after work because i have to spend a good amount of time painting on my knees. What are some thing that i can do to ease the pain?
I lost my right knee and 4 inches of bone below the knee, after surgery I still hurt something awful. Go to the drugstore and buy the knee icy/hot pads which u will put on both Knees and then insert the pack and wear your clothes, lasts for 10 hours. Your pain will stop, unless u have damaged the knee or tendons.
