generally medications are good for a few months past the expiration date
but how you store them can break them down before that date
never store medications in very moist hot areas
some have to be protected from sunlight
liquids needing refrigeration must be store properly and these i certainly would not use past the expiration date
it is always a good idea to throw out old expired medications because the chemical compounds break down and change their composition over time causing it to be dangerous to take
my motto when in doubt throw it out
