I have a pretty bad fever. I'm on my period , and usually when I'm bloated or my body is aching I drink hot green tea to just relax me. I wanted to know if drinking any hot liquids would make my Fever worse, or be helpful?
I wonder what the source of your Fever is? Another type of tea might be more appropriate to your condition.
If it is due to a Cold or flu, I would suggest what I do myself, and have my clients do, which is to drink plenty of HOT diaphoretic herbal teas.
What diaphoretic Herbs do, is to help you sweat out the toxins that are causing your illness. Depending on how high the fever is, sometimes the drinking of hot diaphoretic teas is used in conjunction with lying in a hot bath, or bundling up in blankets, to raise the body Temperature a little further to 'cook out' the germs. This is, after all, why the fever shows up in the first place.
Try having some peppermint, Yarrow, or Elder flower tea instead, and see how that makes you feel. Yarrow is also a diuretic, which could help with your bloating.
Raspberry leaf tea is wonderful for relieving cramps and other menstrual discomforts.
If you really really need your hot Green Tea fix, however, then why not add some Peppermint to the brew?
Edit: In response to bastuard- fevers ARE the body's natural response to fight off germs in the body. And yes, I have experienced and seen in others how quickly one can assist the body to fight of these viruses by helping to further raise body temperature (within a safe range) and sweat out the toxins. Perspiration is, after all, one of our body's methods of eliminating wastes. Hence you'll notice that people that are sick, diseased, or eat crappy food tend to have a foul odor.
