If I drink tea with milk in it, will it cause less stains than plain tea? What about tea made from f
Will that still cause stains? Just curious :)
It depends on what you mean by "made from fruit". In general, tea stains come from the tannins in the tea leaves, which are specific to the tea plant itself. Therefore, yes: tea made from fruit will not cause tea stains, as it isn't actually tea.
However, a tea that happens to have fruit flavoring in it will cause stains just like any other tea. In contrast, something that is an "herbal tea" likely has no tea in it at all, but instead is more properly called a 'tsain' (rhymes with 'brain') or 'herbal infusion'.
I'm not sure about milky tea, though - however, it's mainly the tannins that are at issue, rather than the liquid that contains the tannins. To be fair though, my tea experience comes from living for 3 years next to a tea house, which discouraged its patrons from drinking their tea with milk (it destroys the flavor of the tea.)
