I think I pulled my muscle or hyperextended it or something!!! Please help me f

I will tell you how this happened so maybe you can tell me what is wrong.

I was riding my skateboard and I had to bail out quick, So i tried to run it off, but couldnt so I had to jump down this hill.
I jumped and made it far down the hill, but when I landed, i was sliding, and my left leg went out in front of me and then my knee locked and my leg was stiff. My heel hit a sprinkler and my knee went back and I fell head over heels. I knew something was wrong, but I can sort of limp walk so I figured it was fine, but when I got home it got way worse. After examining my leg I have found out that the muscle running up the outer side/back of my leg was stiff towards the top and is contracted and will not release, so my leg is very tight there and appears swollen. Some people have told me that they think I hyperextended it but I am not sure.

Please Help me I am in track and need to be running soon!
There are likely a few things going on here. You have most likely strained your hamstring muscle, which is the muscle at the back of your leg that is responsible for bending your knee and moving your leg backwards. If it hurts to do these things, it is very likely that this muscle is the culprit. If this is the case the best treatment is to ice it and leave it alone DO NOT STRETCH. Stretching at this point will only make things worse. Hamstring strains are notorious for taking a long time to heal. Be Patient don't try to push through the pain. You should consider seeing a health care professional if it is not better in 4 weeks. It is also quite likely that you sustained damage to you ACL, which is the ligament in you knee that keeps it from hyper extending (straightening too much). The interesting thing is that the hamstring and the ACL do much the same thing at the knee. So, with your hamstring being shot, the ACL is exposed to further damage, and with a compromised ACL, your hamstring has to work harder-causing more strain. Talk about a rock and a hard place. Anyway, just ice and leave it alone for a few weeks.
