I have an uninfected Bartholin's cyst. I have had this for almost two months already and it hasnt grown nor has it become painful. It is about the size of a grape but it can only be noticed if you try to "feel" it.
It was only diagnosed just last week. The OB-GYNE gave me antibiotics just in case. My next appointment is still 2 weeks from now. I just want to get rid of this thing!
Is there any way it will go away without having to seek medical help? If so, what are the Things I can do and How long before it goes away?
Would really appreciate your help. Thanks!
I currently have this situation too. I went to the gynecologist a week ago and he told me that I have two choices, to either get it drained or to wait for the blockage to clear up on it's own.
I've had it drained in the past that that procedure was rediculously painful. This time around...I decided to be hopeful and take care of it myself. I'm just keeping the area clean and taking warm baths everyday. Massaging the area to stimulate Blood flow helps a bit, but the bump is still there.
The Doctor pretty much said that three things can happen if I didn't drain it. One, it will drain on its own. Two, it will stay the way it is uninfected. Three, it will grow and be irritating (where I'd have to get it drained). He described it as a pimple and Medication won't stop the bump and that it will only have to work out on it's own.
I'm pretty much on the same path as you, but I found the doctor to be not so helpful. I hope my experience helps you in some way and if you find any great information...feel free to share with me! Best wishes to the both of us. =)
