Has anyone had this problem, and what did you do to relieve it? Any advice? Any over the counter meds that might help? Serious Answers Only Please!!!
George, can you handle another answer? Without seeing you or doing any sort of physical exam, I can only guess that what you're describing is Thoracic Outlet Impingement Syndrome. It may be a host of other things, but this is my shot in the dark. These things usually come on when one keeps their arms elevated (imagine a barber with his elbows in the air). It's a repetitive, incideous onset type of thing. If this is indeed what it is, the answer is to stop the offending movements, put a warm compress to the area and if you have no other health problems (no allergies to aspirin, liver or kidney disorders, stomach ulcers or high blood pressure), take an over the counter NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflamatory drug) like Motrin, Naprosyn or Aleve. But my best recommendation -- and the safest, is to spend the money, take a little time off from work and go see your doctor. Have him actually take a look at you and do a physical exam -- none of which I have done.
