Hot shower or bath after a workout?
My college's Basketball coach said that if you take a hot shower or bath within "72" hours(he admitted he was unsure of the time) of getting sore muscles from a workout then it can cause an injury, or something bad. because of this, he reccomends Cold showers until after that "72"(or whatever) time period. this sounds ridiculous to me, as my entire life i have taken a hot bath after a workout, or the next day when my muscles are sore, and i feel that it really helps relieve the pain. is there any merit in what he is claiming? thanks in advance
I usually hit the Sauna, then cold shower, then steam room, then cold shower then back into sauna. Keep this up for half an hour.
