Gum is swollen?

I just got Braces this morning around 8 and while I was there they pulled out a baby tooth without any novacaine or anything. It didn't hurt or anything. But now my gum is swollen and bright red where the tooth was. This doesn't hurt either, but I was just wondering if this was normal? I touched it with my tongue and it was like, squishy. Should I be concerned about this? Or is this normal? It is only swollen and red where the tooth was.
This is normal. It may even remain this way until the permanent tooth erupts. Just keep the tissue clean by brushing it gently if possible and rinsing with mouthwash. You can rinse with warm salt water and this will help with some of the inflammation.
