If you have had unprotected sex then you are just a little naive and please do not repeat it. But having said that there are many factors that may influence your being infected.
Are you homosexual or bisexual?
If yes to either are your active or passive - there is a greater risk of contracting HIV when you are passive.
Do you have Oral Sex? As there is a negligible risk from oral sex but no one can definitely discount this risk.
How many different sexual partners have you had? The more partners the greater the risk.
Do you know your partner's sexual history? You should.
