No. Colds are caused by germs. The Temperature changes can weaken us and leave us more suseptible to colds. However it's an old wives tale that the Cold outside can cause illness. Mom used to yell at me for walking barefoot in the grass (especially when it was wet with dew). I never got sick.
Usually the way colds are transmitted are by Coughs and sneezes or touching something like the mouse on your computer at work where someone else has had their snot runny Nose wiping fingers allover it. You touch the mouse then go get a candy bar for a snack. Bam! You got it too. Public phones, door knobs or handles, grocery carts (especially the ones who just had a runny nosed baby sucking on the handle) can be Terrible offenders. Walking in cold wet grass? Not unless I step on something germy then use my feet to eat a sandwich. People who live in warm heated houses in the wintertime go out in the cold ALL THE TIME.
