Diabetes??????/Help?

hi. I am 5'11 and 325lbs. i am a big boned girl. and was recentlly diagnosed as pre-diabetic..i have cut carbs..sugar significantly over the past month..and i got a Blood sugar monitor and have been checking my blood sugar regulairly. now i am from canada..and we use mmol measurements. before meals...mine is anywhere from 4.9-5.8 mmol and about 2 hrs after meals with ...about 70-90 g of carbs its usually about 6.3-7.9 mmol...is this too high? or where it should be for a normal person? does a normal blood sugar go up over 7.0 mmol 2 hrs after meals?? any advice..suggestions..info would be appriciated. ive taken my blood sugar randomly and it likes to sit at about 5.7 mmol
Well at a normal rate the blood suger level should be between 3-6 mmol and you seem to be in that range. After Eating it should go up to about 7.8 mmol and after three hours of eating the blood suger level should go down to less than 6.1 mmol.

For you I think there is not much issue with constant high blood suger level(common in Obesity) but that your body has abnormal regulation of carbohydrates, proteins, fats. This means that it has trouble with things like white bread that give a quick absorbtion of Glucose into the bloodstream, which causes a rapid increase of your blood suger level. Having an iregular blood suger level like this that constantly goes up and down can also be damaging to your health.

The best thing to do is to eat properly and not just think of it as a diet and that you have to loose weight as fast as possible as this can lead to your blood suger level dropping, if you decide to skip breakfast or eat a very light lunch, to bellow 3 mmol known as Hypoglycemia which leaves you at serious risk of entering a Diabetic coma.
So try to regulate your eating to help have a constant blood suger level, try to do regular excersise and remember that excersise helps lower your blood suger level if you find it too high in a reading. Also try to eat low glycaemic index foods like lentils that release glucose more slowly and constantly in to your blood stream.
