I am thinking of going back to work part time- as I am a full time college student... however hubby's income isn't enough to buy needs (diapers etc) because his hours have been cut because it's a slow time of year. I am just curious how much you all pay for daycare/childcare while you work or are at school. While I'm in school my sister- who runs a daycare charges $25 a day.. or $12 for a half day. A day is considered 8am-5:30pm. She watches my sisters two kids while she works full time- they are ages 6 months and 1 year-- and she pays 150 a week. Anyways- just curious if it will be worth it or not for me to even go back to work part time. We live in Michigan- the economy is horrible- i know i wont be able to find anything for more than $8 dollars an hour! Not to mention i have all i can do to finish my school work as it is- Anyways----
I personally think it ends up being worth it! I'm 21 so just went through sorta the same thing. I worked (although it was full time) while taking 15-21 credit hours a semester & I'm a single mom of 3 Children in Indiana. Yep, economy sucks down here too- so don't think moving a state south would be better (some reason I have several neighbors that have moved here from Michigan- they thought for jobs). I still made off with a good amount of money even after paying daycare.. The trick is finding a job as close to the daycare/home as possible!!! Stupid gas prices are what really kills a person..
Tip-- If you can do some of your classes online starting next semester or whatever to finish your degree, I personally found it much easier to do the homework and still manage my kids and a job..
