Hello, I have Monthly Day/Night contacts, i usually sleep with them then take them out after a week and the next morning put them back in for another week, are there any harms by sleeping with them in? Any good true facts about it, is it really harmful etc? I kinda want my eyes to work 20 years from now lol
Well if you are talking about the Ciba Night and Day that is a great lens. It is FDA approved for 30 days of continuous wear. If you are going on a week off a night you will be fine if it is this lens. With older lenses like acuvue 2, biomedics etc. Those can be very harmful if worn overnight. Risks include Ulcers, Infection or even blindness. I will tell you this though, If you wear your contacts A LOT you can get chronic Dry eyes, and that is no fun. So if you can take them out, but as far as any real danger with the lenses you have there are very little. If your optometrist thought you were a bad candidate that he NEVER would have prescribed them to you.
