\she has been suffering backache for a few months has had x ray, consultant rang me today and told me they have found a shadow on her spine it could be a chipped bone but are now doing bone scan with dye, Has anybody had this before im obviously worried she only 11 and otherwise fit and healthy
This is not the place to get the answers you need. Make sure she has an appointment a couple days after the bone scan is done, and don't wait "a week or more" to go back and talk with the doctor. You will worry yourself sick, wondering, and "what if-ing," til you are mentally exhausted. I'm sure she is scared and worried, too.
Be very supportive for her, don't show signs of worry to her. Tell her "We don't want to worry about anything right now. Let's wait til we see the doctor," and ask how she feels about everything. If she's scared, tell her it's ok to be scared, Anybody would be. We are all scared/worried about the "unknown." Just be as supportive as you can for her.
If you are a spiritual family, pray about it. You and she, and God can handle ANYTHING!
