Could I have caused a blood blister to form from popping a pimple on my lip?

I already know that I Shouldn't squeeze/pop pimples, but I had this tiny whitehead on the very edge of my upper lip that Wouldn't go away. Needless to say, I popped it. As I was squeezing, it became rather bulbous & red. now i am left with what appears to be a (very large) Blood blister. Why did this happen and should I pop it?
it probably happened from the pressure of squeezing. if it is a blood blister just get a pin and poke a small hole in it to drain the blood. then put some alcohol on it (it will sting) so that it will dry up :) good luck
