what is the pathophysiology of this disease?
Community acquired pneumonia is a pneumonia (infection/inflammation) which is spread from one person to another. In general, a person with pneumonia may sneeze or cough which blasts out into the surrounding air many germs (bacteria or viruses) which when inhaled by another can infect the second person causing them to get pneumonia.
Hyper reactive airway disorder is a condition related to asthma by which the smooth muscle lining of the bronchial tubes react by constricting and the bronchial tubes swell as in an allergic reaction from either an allergen, or other irritants. Airways can also react this way from exercise and changes in ambient temperature.
The two combined make it extremely difficult to mobilize or "get out" mucus or sputum produced by the pneumonia.
