Not to circumcise. That's my opinion. Circumcision simply has no purpose, other than being a loophole for lazy men and parents who are too lazy to care for their son's Penis while he's young and who think their kids will be too lazy to clean it. Granted, I will admit that an uncut guy can harbor bacteria, but that chance is no more higher than any other body part harboring bacteria, ear, mouth, cut, whatever, and if you clean it, it won't get infected, as simple as that. It's not rocket science. You don't even need a biology degree to know that simple cleaning leads to reduced infection. As for circumcision reducing rates of STD transmission, that's not true in the slightest. People always seem to forget that viruses and bacteria can be transmitted through any tissue, including that of the head. Also, people always forget that the shaft of the penis has Skin on it too, and the shaft is certainly inserted into the other during sex, so disease can easily spread that way. It's a baseless assumption to say it prevents STDs or gives resistance to them. As for cervical cancer, you'll notice that it's not exactly rare here in America. And currently, America is one of the only countries remaining in the world that still practices circumcision on a widespread basis. so what does that say to circumcision preventing the spread of cervical cancer? Penile cancer, too, is also baseless. It's rare, and can happen to any guy, regardless of the way his penis is. A little bit of skin isn't going to skyrocket your chances of getting cancer no more than Cell phone will. Studies have been done that show that penile cancer occurs just as frequently in countries where circumcision is not practices as in the highly circumcised USA. However, one study also stated that uncut men in USA have more chances of getting penile cancer, but I think this is due to the fact that the vast majority of uncut men in America are impovershed, this stemming from the parents foregoing the operation at birth due to lack of funds, and as such, and as such, may not be the cleanest individuals around. I mean this in no offense to anyone. Also, circumcision does strip away a great deal of nerves which give a great deal of sensitivity to the penis, and these nerves reside in the foreskin. Also, upon constant exposure to cloth, the glans develops a hardened layer that further dulls it's sensitivity. Another thing about circumcision that ires me is the religious reasons for it. This is ludicrous, as circumcision is meant to be a pact or covenant with "God" or at least a symbol that the child has accepted the religion as his own, and babies and Children certainly cannot make any kind of pact or decision like that, and certainly shouldn't be cut to show that they have. I also think it very wrong to have your children circumcised, as they had no say in the matter, and I know I want every bit of leverage when it comes to making a decision about my body, especially my penis. It's wrong to be practiced on kids, and should be left for the boy to decide once he becomes older and more experienced in the world of sex. Even many circumcision advocates cannot deny this, as I've seen those that have claimed multiple times before that they made the decision to get circumcised on their own, so you can see that personal decisions have much greater impact for you than when it is done to you against your will. I will say that I am intact, and very proud of the fact, and would never even contemplate circumcision. My sons, should I have some in the future, will not be circumcised at birth or childhood, I leave that choice to them when they get older.
