Chicken Pox!?!?

My friend just got the chicken pox...now i know that they are contagious about 10 days before the spots appear....I am worried that I may catch them but I was wondering What are the signs before the spots show up???

(The day before she noticed a bunch of spots we sharred water, lip gloss, and held hands so that's why I think I may have caught them)
If you've had them, or been vaccinated against chicken pox you are probably safe. Generally speaking you will get sick with the chicken pox within 7 to 14 days after your exposure. The first symptom is actually a runny Nose, Fever and aches and pains, and it is then that you are most contagious. Since those are flu symptoms too, it is easy to spread the virus before you know you're actually infected. You are also very contagious when you have the pox and they are oozing, but after they all scab over you are no longer contagious.
