Cat allergies???

Ive been around about 5 different cats over the last 2 months. 4 of the 5 cats i was allergic to. The 4 that gave me Allergies were short hair. Could someone tell me Why I was allergic to only 4 of the cats?
The allergen from cats normally comes from their sebaceous glands, the most of which is in their saliva and Skin. I'm allergic to cats, but each cat causes a different reaction. Some cats produce less of the allergen, or more than normal so this impacts your reactions differently.
