Carpal Tunnel Release?

I am going in for carpal tunnel release in 6 days. How soon after the op do they let you go home... I HATE hospitals and just want to know how long im going to have to bare it for.
You should ask the doc - the length of time varies a little based on hospital policies, difficulty of the operation, and how you react to the anesthetic. Given the variables, you could be released within a couple hours after the procedure (long enough for the anesthetic to wear and to ensure that there's no bleeding or any unexpected complications), or possibly have to stay overnight. Shorter stays are more common than long ones. I had similar surgery on my ankle, and i was in and out of the clinic in about 3 1/2 hours. They would have kept me for 3-4 more hours if had to drive myself.
