Can you do driver's ed with a arm cast?

I might be getting a cast after a wrist operation, and I want to know if I can still take driver's ed with it or if I'll have to wait.
chances are you are at least getting a splint so this is what you have to consider--how much your driver's ed teacher cares (trust me,mine was just horrible, all he did was put in the dvd and then go outside and smoke). Technically you won't be able to take the driving (you can probably still attend the classes), but if you go to a shady enough establishment, they probably won't care either way.
