Can small piece of broken glass enter your heart from a small cut in your skin?

Picture this:

You accidentally stepped into broken glass. Your foot got cut. Big and small pieces of glass entered your wound.

My question is: Can a really small piece of glass enter, say your Vein, and then travel to your Heart? Can it cut then through tissue?

:) Thanks... Just wondering...
If the tiny piece of glass were to enter a vein directly, then the glass could be carried to your heart and potentially cause major damage. More likely it that it would cause a block in a vein and a clot (thrombosis) would form. Either way it would be serious.
