Bruised knees/kneecap?

Hi, i had a big fall on a metal grating...and i funnily got 3 Cuts even spacing on both knees (metal grates and all...lol)...but i got large spotted bruises...and patches of bruises on both knees...and its hard to walk...i gotta keep my legs straight and kinda limp...like a penguin...what should i do? how long will this heal? should i go to the doctor? :(

PS. i dont think my knees are swelling, deformed or whatever. They look fine (apart from the big patches and spots of bruises! :D), it just limits my walk to like...a penguin as mentioned above.

That's a tender spot to hurt. I just bruised my kneecap hours ago. But I have done it before and can sympathize with your predicament. Ice it up and love your knees from here on out. Stay away from those metal grates!
