i had never even heard about it before, but one of my friends has recently been diagnosed.
i'm not too close to her, so asking her questions about her cancer will be rude, but what are the chances of her living?
i mean, if it's in her blood, then there's not really much chance for her to live... is there?
she is getting 8 months of chemo, but someone said that she won't even last that long.
i guess what i'm asking, is, do any of you know someone who had it? did they live? any information?
she's just 15, if that helps anything.
Its leukemia, actually cancer of the bone marrow, not the blood. Lots of people make it. I am a 3.5 year survivor, diagnosed at 21. I know a lot of other leukemia survivors.
The type will make a difference, there are 4 main types and then a few other rarer types. It is probably ALL or AML. ALL is a lil easier, but AML can survive as well. The other thing that will make a huge difference is how her overall other wise health is. The better health she in the better her chances.
Look up www.leukemia-lymphoma.org and that will give brief explanations.
