about leukemia?

my grandpa had Leukemia and i thought that the doctors we to make you get into clean scrubs but they never made us. are to make you wear scrubs???
my stepma has AML..... She is currently goin through chemo....we have to wear scrubs and gloves each time we go to visit. [they have to be Removed Before leaving her room also]

the Nurse told us that we wear them because it helps in the prevention of illness.....because she has no immune system.
